Putting this one in focus
Britain's Best Business Names 2026 — Terms and Conditions. Last updated 8 October 2026.
1.1 The promoter is Get In Focus Media Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15642128), registered office Windsor Leisure Centre, Stovell Road, Windsor, SL4 5JB ("GIFM", "we", "us").
1.2 Questions about the competition: info@getinfocusmedia.com.
2.1 The competition is open to businesses that trade in the United Kingdom, of any size and legal form (sole traders, partnerships and companies).
2.2 The person entering must be 18 or over and either the owner of the business or authorised by the business to enter it.
2.3 Employees, directors and contractors of GIFM and Leisure Focus, their immediate families, and anyone professionally connected with running the competition may not enter. Existing GIFM clients may enter.
2.4 We may ask for reasonable proof of eligibility and ownership, and may disqualify an entry if eligibility can't be confirmed.
3.1 The competition opens when this website goes live in October 2026 and closes at 23:59 UK time on Thursday 31 December 2026. Entries received after the closing time will not count.
3.2 To enter, go to bestnames.getinfocusmedia.com, enter your business name and details, confirm you're eligible and accept these terms.
3.3 Entry is free. No purchase is necessary, and entering doesn't commit you to buying anything.
3.4 One entry per business. Duplicate entries for the same business are merged into one entry. Businesses with more than one genuinely separate trading name may enter each name once.
3.5 Anyone can nominate a business on the website. A nomination is not an entry: a nominated business is only entered if its owner (or an authorised person) enters it under clause 3.2.
3.6 Entries made in bulk, automatically, through third parties or that break these terms will be void.
3.7 We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or incomplete because of technical faults.
4.1 When you enter, we give your business a free "Social Score" based on publicly available information (for example your Google Business Profile, your website and the public social media accounts linked to your business).
4.2 The Social Score is a free extra for entrants. It has no effect on whether you win.
4.3 The Social Score is our opinion based on information we could read at the time of your entry. Anything we couldn't check is shown as such. It is provided for information only.
5.1 After the closing date, a GIFM judging panel will review all valid entries and select a shortlist of 10 business names. Each name is scored out of 10 against four equally weighted criteria: originality, memorability, relevance to the trade, and brand potential. The panel's decision on the shortlist is final.
5.2 The shortlist will be announced on or around Monday 4 January 2027. A public vote will then run on bestnames.getinfocusmedia.com from 09:00 on Monday 5 January 2027 to 23:59 on Monday 12 January 2027.
5.3 Voters must confirm their email address. One vote per email address. Votes that appear automated, bulk-generated, bought or otherwise fraudulent will be removed, and we may disqualify a finalist that benefits from them.
5.4 The finalist with the most valid votes wins. If there's a tie, the judging panel's shortlist scores decide.
5.5 Shortlisted businesses will be contacted before the shortlist is announced and asked for permission to feature their name publicly. A business that declines will be replaced by the next highest-scoring name.
6.1 There is one prize: six (6) months of GIFM's Engage social media management package free of charge (worth £5,970 at the current price of £995 per month), plus the option of a further six (6) months at 50% off any GIFM package (Spark, Engage or Grow) chosen by the winner.
6.2 The Engage package currently includes: 2 platforms, 5 posts a week plus Stories, community management Monday to Friday, branded video and Reels, up to £200 a month of managed ad spend with no management fee, and a monthly report with a 30-minute review call. Any ad spend itself is paid by the winner.
6.3 The free period must start by 1 March 2027. The optional half-price period must start immediately after the free period ends; if the winner doesn't take it up then, it lapses. The winner is under no obligation to buy anything.
6.4 The prize is for the winning business only. It is not transferable and there is no cash alternative. We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require it.
6.5 Delivering the prize is subject to GIFM's standard service agreement (excluding fees for the free period) and to the winner providing access to its social media accounts and reasonable cooperation.
7.1 The winner will be announced on or around Friday 16 January 2027 and contacted by email and phone using the details given at entry.
7.2 The winner must accept the prize within 14 days of being contacted. If we can't reach the winner, or they don't accept in time or aren't eligible, we may award the prize to the finalist with the next highest number of votes.
7.3 The winner's business name and county will be available on request by emailing info@getinfocusmedia.com for one month after the announcement (the winner may object to this).
8.1 By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to take part in reasonable publicity (for example a short video or photo and a quote), which we'll agree with them first.
8.2 We won't publish anything about an entered or nominated business, other than the winner and shortlisted businesses who have agreed, without that business's permission.
9.1 We use entrants' details to run the competition, produce the Social Score and send the result, and (unless you opt out) a short series of follow-up emails. Full details are in our . You can unsubscribe at any time.
10.1 We may cancel, suspend or change the competition if something outside our reasonable control affects it (for example fraud or technical failure). We'll tell entrants and act fairly.
10.2 We may disqualify entries we reasonably believe are fraudulent, abusive, offensive or in breach of these terms. Business names that are offensive, discriminatory or infringe someone else's rights won't be shortlisted.
10.3 Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise we are not liable for any loss arising from the competition, except where caused by our negligence.
10.4 By entering you agree to these terms. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
10.5 Social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) do not sponsor, endorse or administer this competition.
